A vacancy currently exists for a Site Supervisor, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
The main purpose of this role is to ensure that all site-specific security requirements are met, while delivering a professional and efficient service to the client at all times. The Site Supervisor will oversee daily security operations, ensuring the safety and protection of employees, visitors, and property.
The successful candidate will lead a team of security officers and collaborate with other departments to enforce security procedures and maintain a secure working environment.
Supervise, train, and manage security officers, including scheduling shifts and assigning duties.
Monitor security systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control to detect and prevent security breaches.
Conduct regular site patrols to identify and address potential security risks.
Respond to emergency situations such as fires, medical emergencies, and disturbances, coordinating with law enforcement when required.
Investigate security incidents and compile incident reports for management review.
Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
Work closely with other departments to promote safety and security awareness.
Stay informed of industry regulations and security trends to implement best practices.
Assist with the development and implementation of security training programmes.
Ensure monthly rostering is completed and daily deployment/posting sheets are submitted to Operations or the Office Administrator.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Matric certificate
PSIRA Grade A registered and accredited
Minimum 5 years’ experience in security supervision
Experience with Quality Management Systems
Supervisory training
NOSA / ISO Safety training (advantageous)
Firearm trained with a clean criminal record
SAPS firearm competency certification
Full knowledge and understanding of the Firearms Control Act
Previous staff supervision experience
Computer literacy
Strong planning, leadership, organisational, and communication skills
Willingness to work shifts
Valid driver’s licence with at least 2 years’ driving experience
Must reside in Middelburg

Minimum Grade 11 / Grade 12 qualification
PSIRA Grade B registered and accredited, including Armed Response
Valid firearm competency for business purposes (minimum Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the security industry
Clean criminal record
Willing to undergo regular criminal background checks
Must be physically fit
Must reside in Middelburg or be willing to relocate
Conduct patrols and respond to alarms, particularly in high-risk areas
Maintain safeguarding and security of property and personnel
Manage entrance and exit control procedures
Complete and maintain required registers and documentation
Compile incident and report writing as required
Perform standard security duties according to training and company procedures
Good communication skills
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to follow instructions accurately
Good knowledge of the Middelburg area
